Requirements for the flexographic printing process

Flexographic printing is used to print dental bags made of film precisely and efficiently.
This printing technique is ideal for printing on plastics such as PE (polyethylene), which are used for dental bags.
Below you will find information on what is required to print dental bags using the flexographic printing process.

Preparing the design

• Design creation: Create a print-ready design with the desired graphics and text. Make sure that the design elements are in vector graphics (e.g. Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW). Flexo printing works with spot colours, so the colours should be created in CMYK mode or as Pantone colours. Check the resolution (at least 300 dpi) and the maximum printable area of the bag (bag format 180x250+230mm = print area max. 160x230mm).
• Create printing plate (cliché): Flexo printing requires printing plates (clichés) made of photopolymer. We produce the cliché based on your design and mount it on the printing machine for foil printing.

Material selection

• Film: Dental bags are often made of PE (polyethylene) or other plastic films.
• Material preparation: Flexographic printing machines usually work with film rolls. The film is printed and the pouch is customised after printing.

Colour selection

• Colour selection: Select the colours for printing. Flexodruck uses quick-drying, solvent- or water-based inks that are especially suitable for plastics.
